Take a Tour of This Vancouver Island Tiny House

Patricia gives us a guided tour of her tiny house on Vancouver Island, Canada.

She decided to move into her tiny house in order to live more sustainably as she prepares for retirement.

Working 3-4 days a week, she is able to live and work in her tiny house and tend to her garden of herbs and berries.

The outside of the home features a beautiful, large deck. It’s not attached to the home. It can be broken down into segments making it easy to move if need be. The home features beautiful, glass French doors. They have built-in blinds.

The house is 22 by 8.5 feet. That is the largest she could go. Every inch makes a difference in a tiny house.

The living room has a couch that pulls out into a double bed for guests. The couch also has built-in storage underneath. There’s a small loft above that is used for storage.

There is a closet to hang clothing and a TV sits on top.

The bathroom has a larger RV tub in the shower, for taking baths. The cabinet beneath the bathroom sink has a small shelf for storing toilet paper and toiletries.

The litter box is stored inside the cabinet, so it also has an opening for the cat to get in and out.

The kitchen has plenty of storage space. There is a roasting oven and plug-in portable burners. She also has a small built-in dishwasher. There’s a slide-out countertop that can be used for extra prep space or seating.

Beneath the kitchen cabinets are rows of kick drawers for storage. The wall opposite the sink and appliances has lots of shelves.

Beneath those shelves is a washing machine and laundry area.

Next to that, there is also more closet and drawer space. There’s also a pantry.

The bedroom doubles as an office. A desk opens out of the wall and there is a cupboard above the desk. There are built-in shelves for paperwork storage.

Steps open from the side of the bed so she can get up to the loft area, onto the bed. Across from the bed, there is some more storage.

Right now that storage is filled with papers for work. Once she retires she will have all that space cleared up and free for other uses. The bedroom office features two windows.
