Avoid alcohol-based cleaners!

These can really damage lens coatings. Use blue Dawn dish soap as recommended by eye doctors.

Apply Soap and Scrub

Apply a drop of Dawn dish soap to each lens. Use thumb and index finger to scrub in circular motions, paying extra attention to smudged areas. Avoid using sponges or scrubbers that may damage lens coatings.

Use the Right Cloth

Use a smooth, eyeglass-specific microfiber cloth for drying. Avoid paper towels, Kleenex, or clothing which can scratch lenses. Microfiber cloths are soft, effective at buffing out smudges, and lint-free. Keep them handy around the house to avoid using abrasive materials.

If you follow these steps, your glasses will remain crystal-clear and well-maintained, providing a better viewing experience and longer-lasting lenses!

Thanks this is awesome! I'm new to wearing glasses and this has been challenging. Can you also use the Dawn to clean the microfiber cloth? Oil and makeup from my glasses are always on my cloths.

NEVER use any paper derived products on your lenses! They will scratch! Paper towel, Kleenex and toilet paper are all a no no. Use a soft cloth if necessary. A tea towel washed with out fabric softener is best if the microfiber cloth does not do the trick.
